Good morning, Friends and Family! Hope 2010 is as delightful for you, as it is for me. I made a decision that 2010 is going to be my best year ever, and that is what I’m focusing on. How about you?

Today, I just want to share some thoughts I have about being a spiritual teacher and coach. Since my guidance is to strengthen “my inner observer,” I’ve had the opportunity to watch people interact with the information that comes through me, without emotions getting in my way. I thought I’d share my observations, as it might help someone out there choose between content and marketing/appearance/perception.

Even though I implicitly have followed my guidance to make the teachings I share accessible to as many people as possible, I have never hid the facts that I am a transchannel first and have received over 20 years of training from a Native American Moon Woman. Even though I rarely present myself in either context, I am fully capable of pulling in messages from the highest guides on the Spiritual Planes and have done for many, many years, and continue to do in my private spiritual practices, high ceremony. Just because I neither overtly nor covertly advertise these gifts doesn’t mean I don’t own them. Just because I rarely don my feathers and turquoise jewelry doesn’t mean I don’t have ceremonial garb. What it does mean is that I am very conscious that in order to broaden my outreach, I have to appeal to the most people. That means I spend a great deal of time just talking to people, listening to their dreams for themselves and their families, and translating what I know and the information that flows through me into something that people can hear.

Several weeks ago I had a great discussion with my friends on my regularly scheduled Friday night program, The Exchange on ACIM Gather (http://www.acimgather.org) on this very topic. We used the example of James Arthur Ray who marketed himself as a water pourer for Native American Sweat Lodges, using words like “Sacred” “Secret” “Ceremony” “Hidden” “Deep in the Jungles of South America.” His marketing piece on his website made it seem that he had both knowledge and standing in the Native American world as a ceremonial/lodge leader. This indeed was not the case, and several people died and were injured in Sedona, AZ as a result of Mr. Ray’s attempts to lead a ceremony he was unqualified to supervise.

How do I know this? First, in the Indigenous world no one markets their work. Someone’s knowledge base and abilities are confirmed by others and shared by word of mouth. For example, no one ever says, “I am a Medicine Woman.” Others might call someone a Medicine Woman, because she helped them in some way. It is in fact the community that gives credence to the notion that someone connects to Creator in a good way and is helpful. What a bona fide Native American teacher/ceremonial leader will do is share with you who their Elders are and what lineage supports them. That is the acceptable credential in that world.

Second, I have written Mr. Ray several emails and contacted his supporters on Facebook asking them for information about Mr. Ray’s lineage and Elders so that my Elders can connect with his and help correct Mr. Ray’s behavior. No one has ever responded, and it is my contention that they don’t respond because they can’t respond. It is my belief, unless Mr. Ray and/or his supporters give appropriate information to me, that Mr. Ray does not have a lineage in the Indigenous world and that no Elders take responsibility for his behavior. He, therefore, is not in fact a water pourer, has never gone through extensive training and supervision as a water pourer, and had no business taking anyone, let alone dozens of people, through a sweat lodge ceremony.

The sad thing to me is that somewhere along the line Mr. Ray seems to have started to believe his own marketing hype. I really feel that he saw himself as a ceremonial leader, even though he patently was not. Also, if his many emails are any sign of where he is at, he does not take personal responsibility for what happened in the Sweat Lodge in Sedona. Taking responsibility is key to good Medicine work. In the Indigenous world until Mr. Ray makes right, he will never have any good connections, either in the Spirit World or with the People.

So, please be aware, when you are looking for a teacher, that in many spiritual disciplines there are mentors and lineages. The teacher is only as good as the lineage that stands for him or her. So, do due diligence and find out what is standard practice for a teacher in the discipline you are thinking of studying, and only study with someone who has a great lineage and the fruit from that tree.

The second part of my talk with you today is more personal. I have had the opportunity to share teachings on several fronts over the last six months and watch what people do with them. It’s been quite enlightening.

One of the first things I noticed is that who starts applying the teachings will often surprise you. I’ve been watching two young gentlemen who are around 23 years of age, for example. I’ve spent hundreds of hours on chat with the youngster who is heavily attracted to Indigenous teachings and wants to be a healer. Although he’s had some Ah Ha! moments over the course of the last year with me, he continues to walk into karmic lessons (lessons learned through suffering). This last set of lessons I’m watching him in has to do with how he chooses teachers. I’d like to share my observations of his walk with you.

On the one hand, I have been sharing foundational teachings and healing work with this young man all along. I have even put him in touch with my “Auntie” (my Native American teacher), as a first connection to my lineage. I drove over three hours to Alabama to attune him to Reiki, when his teacher of choice fell through. On the other hand, he went to a few sweat lodges with water pourers I know in Alabama and eventually decided to present his Medicine gifts to the couple and request to be taught by them. He even moved to their property and works full time on the property for a barely habitable, poorly-heated room and very little board. After being there since November, the couple has not responded in an appropriate, timely manner to his request for teachings. I doubt that they ever will.

Then, I watched the other young man. I met him because he was a friend of my roommate of 20 plus years, and they went into business together. By profession, this young man is a hairdresser, and he loves to help people. On its face, I would have never thought that this man would connect with my teachings. But, he has. He’s hungry for the teachings, applies what I’m sharing with him, accepts me as is, and shares the teachings and opportunities to work with me with his friends. He has made so much progress in the last few months that I can’t wait to see what he manifests next.

Another person I was observing is the only person I ever apprenticed in over 20 years. I really like this lady and connect strongly with her vision of helping animals. I know that she is new to the spiritual path, and often that means that the bells and whistles being marketed are attractive. But, I was totally flabbergasted when she emailed me to say that she was not going to participate in the teachings at this point. I know for a fact that she spent considerable money, that she did not have, to attend a weekly workshop on creating abundance. Since she told me that she is processing negative emotions and suffering while doing this, I know that she either isn’t applying good abundance teachings, or appropriate truth teachings aren’t being passed along. What is even more on point is that the process I offered to share with her, for free, has a huge track record of effectiveness in helping one manifest what delights, without processing negativity or suffering in any way.

Where I went in my thinking is that people are attached to how they receive the teachings. They want to be in control of how the teachings manifest for them. I knew this, as my Reiki Master told me this over 20 years ago when we discussed the attunement process. My Reiki Master did a traditional style attunement because people who researched Reiki usually had some idea of what that process was like. My contention was that the attunement was sealing an energy transfer that had already occurred, so it didn’t matter how one attuned a student but that one did enough for the student to believe something happened. Even though my Reiki Master agreed with me, he contended that appearing to do the attunement in the “right way” perhaps was a part of building that belief.

In the instances above, I have been guided to offer a life line to three people. Let’s say metaphorically that I offered a white life line. One of these folk didn’t care what color the life line was, so he took it and pulled himself up. One of the people said, “I want a red life line. If it isn’t red, it’s not Native. So, I don’t even see the white life line, even though it’s laying right in front of me.” Unfortunately, unless the Universe intervenes, this guy is in a vibrational morass that could be very challenging to overcome. In the case of the apprentice, she said, “I see the white life line. I’ve seen others pick it up. I’ve even picked it up every once in awhile and then put it down. But, pulling myself up with the white life line means I’m going to have to give up suffering and change some things in my life. I think I’ll try this other life line. They are in a healing center. The way they market their work sounds good. Their terminology sounds really spiritual. They have techniques.”

To round off this discussion, I would just like to say that my training as a healer tells me to be unattached to people’s process and results. I was trained to hold the space for miracles to occur but not to put my details on what someone else’s miracle would look like. As my Elders say, “Healing for some people is a miracle cure. Healing for some people will be happiness in spite of disease or disability. Healing for others might be a good death.” So, even though some part of me feels emotional as I watch people move in and out of the teachings, I work on being as detached as I can.

When it comes down to it, I can only give you one good piece of guidance on this topic. It’s not original to me. In fact, it’s something I picked up by studying Jesus’s words in The Bible. “Look at the fruit on the tree.” Do your research. Find out not only how a person acts in class but how they treat family members and business associates. If his/her fruit uniformly is tasty all of the time in every season, you might want to try it. If it’s not, there are other trees out there. Finally, if you do try the fruit of someone’s tree and see that it is seasonal or not to your taste, you can always find another tree. Ultimately, all paths go one place — they uncover our complete awareness that we are always connected to All That Is. That is God’s promise and our salvation.

My websites are finally moved and accessible, so I thought I’d start off 2010 by sharing predictions for the coming year. One of my best friends sent me information from her mentor who called 2010, “The Turnaround Year.” This tag seems congruent with my understanding of how reality works — we are always at liberty to change our minds and create something different than what we are currently seeing. In fact, I teach my students and clients that we live in a choice-driven universe, and all one has to do to shift reality is change one’s mind!

Consistent with this theme, I am dedicating 2010 to making a success breakthrough myself and to coaching others to make their own success breakthroughs. I will be sharing extensive teachings to support this work on my website, http://www.thesuccessbreakthrough.com, and invite you to visit daily as I share cutting edge information and techniques that will support you making desired changes in your life. No barrier is too wide or too deep to breakthrough! So, come join us and turn your life around in 2010!

My specific targeted goal is to break through the barriers that being on disability has caused in my life and create unlimited financial resources so that I always have freedom to choose what is best for me and my ministry. The vehicle I am using to make this breakthrough profits from deregulation. If you want to join me and create financial choices in your life, phone me at 770 947 0988 and let me know that you read this post.

In conclusion, here is an awesome Youtube video that shares predictions for 2010 published in The Sedona Journal. Enjoy!

Although I haven’t really shared that much about where I stand spiritually on my blog, I do share on my About Page that I am apprenticed to Moon Maiden, Miss Genni Pearlsong McCoury, and have worked with her for over 20 years. I have also worked with many Indigenous Elders over the course of time, and my fundamental spiritual beliefs are consistent with these teachings. I believe that Mother Earth is a living being of great majesty and power. I believe that every being who lives on Earth — people, plants, animals, trees, rocks, crystals, soil, bacteria, viruses — has consciousness and residing inside of each of these magnificent beings is a spark of God. I see God everywhere, in everything. Therefore, every being on Earth is precious to me, is a part of my family. Where I live in Douglasville, among the trees, is a community of plants, animals, and people. My job as a member of this community is to give of my talents as best I can, because I gain so much in relation to the gifts I am given every day and value each and every being who connects with me in a good way.

Whether we want to believe this or not, our lives are governed by natural law. We can either work with the law or have it work against us. As a people, since we have stepped away from family/community-based agriculture, we have stopped listening to the land, to the animals and plants around us. We no longer connect with the natural wisdom that would support our continued successful life within our community. We have stopped living in harmony with natural law. We no longer follow the natural cycles of the planet, and we have lost connection. Then, we wonder why our lives are not working; why the technological explanations for how things manifest don’t quite work for us, on a consistent basis.

I am dedicating 2010 to using and sharing teachings about how to live in accord with Mother Earth and all her children so that we can create a permanent path to living a successful, joyful life, in harmony with natural law, in community with all living things. I am committed to honoring all my relations — God/Source/Creator, the Mother Earth, the Sun, the Moon, the stars, the plants, the animals, the soil, the rocks, the crystals, the bacteria, the viruses, everyone I meet, the Holy Ancestors, spirit guides and teachers. When I live in this way, I have vibrational coherence and am not at the negative effect of any happenings of the day.

Does this mean that I am recommending that everyone go out and do Native American or Indigenous ceremony on a regular basis? Not unless you are led to do so, and if you are led this way and need to connect with a bona fide Lineage, please connect with me, because it is rather challenging to find a congruent Native American teacher.

What I am suggesting is that you connect today, right now, and that you make time to connect daily. First, connect with your Higher Power, with whatever you believe is greater than you, and communicate your gratitude for your life, in whatever state it’s in. If you don’t feel the connection, talk with your Higher Power anyway. There is great power in “faking it until you make it.” Second, connect with the Earth. For those who can do this, take your shoes off and walk around outside barefoot. Wiggle your toes in the grass; walk directly on the soil in your garden. Go up to a a tree and touch it with the awe and wonder of a child. Mentally state your intention to connect in deep gratitude for the shade the tree provides. Look at the plants and animals around you. Thank them for being there, for giving you the gift of their teachings. Look up at the sun; feel the warmth of its rays and thank it for its many gifts — light, day, food. Live a life of honoring, in deep gratitude for the many gifts you are given in every moment.

Then, make plans and decisions from that connected place. Our Elders teach us that we should consider the outcomes of our decisionmaking for seven generations. This is a good way to live, to think further than the dictates of the moment, to ensure good living for those who follow us. It is the way the Holy Ancestors lived in the Ancient World, and they had far greater abilities than those we aspire to in the modern world.

In 2010 I will be living this way and sharing how to live this way — connecting with the wisdom of the natural world in reverence and gratitude in order to create desired life breakthroughs. A small group of my brothers and sisters are joining me in this process, and I will be writing a book to document our journey together as well as share the breakthrough process. I am giving the basic teachings that are the foundation for this way of purposeful living on my blog, The Success Breakthrough. You are welcome to visit me there at any time, leave questions or comments.

In closing, I would like to share with you a video that I received this morning from Children of the Sun. They are using the film as their basis for this month’s Full Moon Ceremony on Wednesday, December 2. I am sharing it with you to show you in graphic detail what I value, why I am going to move me and my family to higher ground so that whatever occurs on December 21, 2012, we will be living a fulfilled, joyful, and prosperous life. I invite you to join us!

One of the things that my longstanding friends and familymembers know about me is that at heart I am a performer and musician. If you read my About page, my first mentors were singers, musicians, and ballet dancers, many of whom were friends with my Mother who was a concert pianist. My love of music, dance, and live performance continues as the center of delight in my life.

As a lover of Celtic music and dance, I have seen many Irish dancers and musicians over the years. When I saw Michael Flatley for the first time, I was totally blown away by his talent, energetic performance, and commitment to his art. So, today I would like to share the Youtube video of the Finale of Feet of Flames. Absolutely incredible! Enjoy!

As you may know, I am a huge fan of Abraham-Hicks. In this short video, Abraham talks about the key to having a happy relationship.

I have had the honor and pleasure of working with EFTWizard, Brad Yates, for several months now, as a member of his Tapping for Abundance program. So, when Holy Spirit guided me to focus on creating positive change for the challenges presented by rainforest deforestation, in my mind’s eye I saw Brad’s face and knew that together we could make a difference. This is how our joint venture, Tapping for the Rainforests, was born.

Today, I am sharing the second video Brad made for this project. It’s called, “Caring More…” In the future, I believe this video will be among the seminal works in the field of Surrogate Tapping (needleless acupuncture technique used for working on others and on more global challenges). If you want to make a difference in your life, in your family life, and in your world, you can start by caring more.

When you have tried this tapping routine, please visit our website, http://www.tappingfortherainforests.com, or our Facebook Fan Page, Tapping for the Rainforests. On these pages, Brad and I are sharing videos that show the extreme value of the rainforests and how people are creating positive solutions to the problems posed by their deforestation.

The rainforests are calling. One person can make a difference. Will it be you?

I’ve been thinking about what I could say about my relationship with Mary, Tolen’s Mother. When you know someone for over two decades, he or she surely has a huge impact in your life. I can truthfully say that over the years I have learned so much from Mary, and I will always be grateful for the time we shared.

I like to think of Mary as Aunt Genni Pearl described her to me, after she crossed over — “She is about 5′6″ tall; a real knock out. I was totally blown away when I saw her.” I like the image of Mary as someone who is young, vibrant, joyful, beautiful. Now, she is reunited with her family and friends who have gone before her. Now, she is at home with God.

Truthfully, we had a challenging relationship, but each of us persevered in our quest to find common ground because we both love Tolen dearly. The fact that we came to peace and eventually found forgiveness is a testament to our commitment.

Mary could be very kind. When I was electrocuted in 1999, she secretly paid my rent for months, until my disability came through. When I offered to repay her, she refused to take the money. Every holiday she bought me a new outfit. I looked forward to our shopping trips together.

For years we had superficial conversations — very pleasant but avoiding all the topics we preferred not to discuss with each other. Then, when Tolen’s ex-partner came back into his life, after more than a decade’s absence, Mary started opening up to me. She told me that she was worried about Tolen, that she didn’t think the relationship was good for him, that Tolen was a good catch for a better kind of man than his partner.

After that, Mary opened up like a little spring bud. She’d share her thoughts and fears with me. Then, she’d retreat when her husband or Tolen was around. I think Mary liked to keep secrets; that little air of intrigue delighted her.

Mary was a tremendously gifted story teller. In her anecdotes I got a flavor for life in the South. For a second generation American Yankee who only knew her grandparents, Mary’s tales about her foster kin, her blood family, and how they lived were fascinating. Mary was funny, both in words and the wonderful facial expressions that accompanied them. Even after she couldn’t really speak, she still was able to communicate with a smile, a scrunched up brow, and the wink of an eye.

When Mary had her stroke, I knew we had come to the end of our journey together. I didn’t need to speak with my Elders; I could see her spirit hovering around her body in the community hospital in Montezuma. She was ready to make her transition.

But, it became apparent that her husband wasn’t ready to let her go. So, when he lifted the Do Not Resuscitate order to transport her to the hospital in Macon, where she eventually had brain surgery, Mary went along for the ride. She continued to hover near her body for a bit over three months. At times, she was near enough to make contact with her family, to communicate in whispers, to eat regular food and watch television with her husband. At others, her stare was vacant, and she was far away, engrossed in conversations with her guides, angels, and teachers. I even caught her one day talking to them, when her husband and Tolen were in a different part of the house. It was her little secret.

Mary spent the last three months of her life giving a strong gift to her husband and Tolen — a time to build and share happy memories, to touch and caress her which she would have never allowed before the stroke, and ultimately a few more precious moments of her presence.

Aunt Genni Pearl and I visited with Mary every night in the Spirit World, since the day she had her stroke. In the beginning, most of our time together was taken up by conversations about the difference between what the Spirit World was like and Mary’s views on what it should be like. Then, we spent quite a lot of time doing healing work together near the Crystal Healing Pools. After a few weeks of working like this, Mary and I would leave Aunt Genni Pearl at the Healing Pools and go off and talk. We came to an understanding at a very fundamental level about negotiating reality. Mary asked me to forgive her. I told her there was nothing to forgive. We came to peace.

Once her husband decided to bring Mary home to Montezuma, it was only a matter of time before Mary found the right vehicle to make her exit. Every day she was more and more in the Spirit World, less in touch with earthly concerns. So, I was not surprised at all when her husband phoned on November 1 to say that Mary was in physical jeopardy. After struggling to breathe for three days, Mary left her body and returned to her Maker.

Just before Mary died, Tolen went into meditation and called out to his brother, Tommy, who had died 17 years earlier. Tolen asked Tommy to be there for Mary, should she choose to cross over. I am very happy to report that Tommy met Mary; that her crossing was peaceful; that they stayed with the family as they prepared for her funeral.

At her funeral, the preacher who actually knew Mary the least well of the three did a superb job of describing Mary. He focused on her ability to create an atmosphere of hospitality wherever she went. Hospitality has the same roots as the word, hospital. It means “friendly to guests.” Mary was famous both in Georgia and Mississippi for her gracious, Southern hospitality. People vied for invitations to her dinner parties, and they were the highlight of the social season.

Mary’s passing marks the end of an era. That gentle, Southern life she so closely guarded is a thing of the past. Even she remarked that Montezuma was changing beyond all recognition.

I will never forget Mary for as long as I live. She was a great lady in the tradition of the Deep South, a living embodiment of a by-gone era.

First, I want to extend my sincere apologies to you all for my lack of presence here the last several days. Technology challenges have prevented me from accessing my websites. Thankfully, they are solved, and we can go on with our daily sharing here.

As you are aware, I am making two pushes to breakthrough in my life — to break through the financial barrier of being a recovered disabled woman and to increase my wellness profile. The last two posts I shared, giving you a flavor for the expertise that Katherine Clark and Viktoras Kulvinskas have, were designed to show you why I listen to them. They have consistently been on top of the field of whole and raw food nutrition for decades. They know the research in the field, and when they recommend a course of action, it is sound.

So, when I found out that my nutritional levels are not all that sound, when my doctor did my regularly scheduled blood tests, I went to Katherine for a solution because following normal medical guidance obviously wasn’t working for me. Katherine consulted with Viktoras and did some research. After a few weeks, she invited me to meet with Fred Van Liew, known all over the world as the water doctor. Fred was visiting Atlanta, talking in small group settings about adrenal exhaustion. So, a few friends and I went to see Fred three Saturdays ago. Little did I know at the time that this meeting was going to change how I think about and what I do regarding feeding my body.

I could write reams about what Fred shared with us. The two hours we spent with him were information rich and life-changing. The first thing that struck me about Fred was that he was a good-hearted, spiritually-devout man. He really cares about people and offers information and solutions that are on the cutting edge of the nutritional field.

But, the best thing I can really do is let Fred speak for himself. So, I am going to invite you to go to http://www.wellnesslecture.com and listen to Fred’s presentations, Adrenal Exhaustion 2009 and Adrenal Exhaustion 2009 Q & A. This is a by-invitation-only website, so when you land there, put my email address in the box that asks who invited you, melodyroseparker@gmail.com. Be sure to fill out your contact information accurately, since when you refer your friends and family to the information — and I know you will — they will need your email to access the site.

Since I listened to the Wellness Lectures and subsequently sent several friends and clients there and ordered the one month blast package for Tolen and me, my picture of wellness and my strategy to achieving wellness has altered completely. Fred is such a blessing in my life. I cannot overstate the gifts he has given me. Not only does he provide cutting edge wellness information on his websites, he also is on the forefront of the crusade for freedom of choice in health care. Unlike other thought leaders, he is accessible. He answers every email himself; he is available to consult by phone. He readily shares his contact information on his websites and radio program, Your Health, Your Choice (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m. EDT at http://www.hthradio.net).

This morning I was on Fred’s radio program where he interviewed Dr. Rima Laibow of http://www.healthfreedomusa.org. Dr. Laibow is one of the key players who is in court pushing back the powers that be to insure that all Americans have the freedom to choose how they create health and wellness in their lives. This interview was eye-opening, and her website is a place where you can go to begin looking for the truth so that you can make informed health care choices for you and your family.

People, I am going to be blunt here. If I’ve learned anything over the last 2 decades of incrementally improving my wellness profile it is to ask questions, to be better informed, to look for alternatives. If I had relied on the traditional health care provided by Medicare when I was electrocuted and continued to take 26 medications a day to keep my body going, I would either be dead now or at least in a wheelchair.

In my last three posts, I have made every effort to connect you with three of the top experts in creating lasting wellness. I use the products they recommend. I share them with others, and I am not going to lie to you, I do get small commissions for sharing them. That is how I currently finance my journey into wellness. But, that doesn’t mean they aren’t excellent products, well worth trying. What it does mean is that it is possible for us to create a win/win situation together, where everyone moves toward more wellness.

In closing, I urge you to take the information I have shared and run with it. I don’t think I am overstating the case when I say your life and the lives of your family members may very well depend on it.

In my second installment of this series of posts on wellness, I want to introduce you to Katharine Clark, Viktoras Kulvinskas’ partner. I first met Katharine in 1988, and she has helped me to incrementally improve my nutritional program. In this video, she talks about one of my favorite foods, Super Blue Green Algae. Enjoy the video and visit my blog regularly. The news I’ll be sharing about my meeting on Saturday with Katharine and Fred Van Liew is life-altering!

As a set-up to discussing my meeting with Katharine Clark, Viktoras Kulvinskas’ partner, and Fred Van Liew, the water doctor, with you, I am posting Pure Jeevan’s video interview of Viktoras Kulvinskas.

I first met Viktoras in about 1988 when he was touring the country with Katharine, sharing his book, Survival in the 21st Century at Super Blue Green Algae meetings. Even then, Viktoras was on the cutting edge of whole raw food nutrition, and to this day, he remains committed to helping people break their addictions to food that is empty of goodness and supporting their bodies in the healing process. Viktoras is now considered to be the Father of Raw Food Eating.

I have always found Viktoras to be extremely knowledgeable, truthful, and genuine. I think you are going to like this video very much indeed. Stay tuned tomorrow when I share Viktoras’ and Katharine’s latest find. What we learned at Saturday’s meeting totally blew the four of us away!
